Badr, full name Badr Hunayn, sits in Al Madinah Province on Highway 60 between Madinah and Yanbu, about 150 km south-west of the Prophet's Mosque and 90 km east of Yanbu on the Red Sea. From Madinah the drive is about 2 hours through Bir al-Rawha and the wadi country; from Yanbu about 1 hour 15 minutes; from Rabigh 80 km up the coast. The sites, and how long they take
The martyrs' cemetery of the fourteen companions is on the edge of town, fenced, with viewing from the wall. Masjid Al Arish marks the spot of the shelter from which the Prophet watched the battle. The battlefield itself is open ground between the town and the hills, and Jabal Malaika, the hill of the angels, overlooks it. The well of Badr is a few minutes further. With a driver waiting at each, two hours covers everything at a reflective pace; a single hurried hour is possible.

The Haramain highway is the fast way between the holy cities.
