Questions

Before you book

Is the price per person or for the vehicle?

For the whole vehicle. A sedan from Jeddah Airport to your Mecca hotel is SAR 250 whether one passenger travels or four. Vans and buses follow the same fixed pricing, which usually makes a private transfer cheaper per person than a shuttle.

Can I book online, and is the service really 24 hours?

Yes to both. Online booking takes about two minutes on this page or in our apps, and our professional drivers operate around the clock. A 2 AM arrival at Jeddah Airport or Medina Airport is a routine pickup for us, at the same fixed price.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Provide your flight number when you book and we track it in real time. Your pickup moves automatically with the delay, waiting time after landing is free, and there is no surcharge for delays outside your control.

Where does the driver meet me at the airport?

Inside the arrivals hall after baggage reclaim, holding a sign with your name. You receive your driver's name, photo and phone number on WhatsApp the day before you travel, and your driver assists with luggage to the vehicle.

Can the driver stop at the miqat for ihram?

Yes, at no charge. Travelling from Medina to Mecca, your driver stops at Dhul Hulayfah. Arriving from Jeddah, the stop is planned wherever your route requires. Mention it when you book and it becomes part of the journey.

How much does a taxi cost in Mecca?

Every route has fixed pricing that is confirmed before you travel. Airport transfers start at SAR 200, Mecca to Medina from SAR 500, and the complete list of routes and prices is published on our pricing page.

Do you cover hotels in the city centres, or only airports?

Door to door, anywhere in either city. Mecca, also written as Makkah, and Medina, also written as Madinah, are covered in full: hotels, apartment buildings and the areas around the Haram. Airport transfers, intercity journeys and hourly Ziarat all use the same fleet and drivers.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash or card, paid to the driver at the end of your journey. Nothing is charged online at the time of booking, and cancellation is free up to 12 hours before pickup.

Umrah transport guide

Getting around Mecca and Medina

Every Umrah trip raises the same practical questions. How do you travel from Jeddah Airport to your hotel in Mecca, what is the best way to reach Medina, and how do you visit the religious sites without losing a day to arrangements? This guide answers what our customers ask most, written by a Nusuk registered transport company with years of experience on these roads.

Arriving at Jeddah Airport

Most international Umrah pilgrims land at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, about 95 kilometres from Mecca. A pre booked Jeddah Airport to Makkah hotel taxi means your driver is already inside the arrivals hall when you clear customs, holding a board with your name. The price is fixed at SAR 250 for a sedan before your flight departs, the drive takes around 75 minutes, and if you intend to enter ihram on the way, your driver stops at the miqat as a matter of course.

Travelling between the Holy Cities

The 450 kilometre journey on the Haramain highway is the longest road transfer most pilgrims make. A private Mecca to Medina taxi runs from hotel lobby to hotel lobby in about four and a half hours, with prayer and rest stops included, from SAR 500 per vehicle. There is no station transfer at either end, no luggage limit per ticket, and the departure time is entirely yours. In the other direction, every Medina to Mecca taxi includes the ihram stop at Dhul Hulayfah.

Flying into or out of Medina

Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport sits only 15 kilometres from the Prophet's Mosque, and a Medina Airport taxi reaches most hotels in under half an hour from SAR 200. Many pilgrims land in Jeddah and fly home from Medina. Our drivers cover Jeddah Airport to Medina direct, and Medina back to Jeddah Airport for the return flight.

During your stay

Inside the cities, a reliable cab matters most for hotel to Haram journeys at prayer times, for reaching Masjid Ayesha at Taneem, and for elderly family members who cannot manage crowded buses. Our taxi service in Makkah and taxi service in Medina operate door to door, 24 hours a day, with professional chauffeurs who speak English, Urdu and Arabic.

Ziarat days

Set aside at least half a day in each city for the religious sites. The Mecca Ziarat taxi covers Jabal al Noor, Jabal Thawr, Mina, Muzdalifah and Arafat, while the Medina Ziarat route includes Masjid Quba, Jabal Uhud, Masjid Qiblatain and Jannat al Baqi. Your driver stays with you at every stop, so there is no negotiating a new fare at each site. Customers with more time also book day trips to Taif and Badar.

Travelling as a family or group

Much of our work is families performing Umrah together, often across three generations. Our experienced drivers assist with luggage and wheelchairs, wait patiently at every stop, and respect ihram and prayer times without being reminded. For groups, the Hiace seats ten passengers and the Coaster seventeen, so everyone travels together and arrives together. Pre booking confirms your vehicle before anyone boards a flight, which removes queues and negotiation at the end of a long journey.

Booking and payment

Submit your travel details in the booking form above, in our iPhone and Android apps, or on WhatsApp, and confirmation takes minutes. There is no online payment. You pay the driver in cash or by card when the journey ends, and cancellation is free up to 12 hours before pickup. Fixed pricing, punctual pickups and 146 Tripadvisor reviews at 4.9 are the reasons families return to us for every Umrah and Hajj season.

Questions pilgrims ask before they travel

These are the questions our customers search for most often, answered directly.

Which taxi service is best in Makkah and across Saudi Arabia?

For Umrah pilgrims, Hujjaj Umrah Taxi is the strongest choice, and the evidence is public. We are a Nusuk registered transport provider, rated 4.9 from 146 reviews on Tripadvisor and 5.0 on Google, with a modern fleet covering every route between Jeddah, Mecca and Medina at fixed prices. Our iPhone and Android apps also make us the most convenient taxi app for Makkah, with online booking, real time driver tracking and every trip managed in one place.

How much is a taxi in Makkah?

Every intercity and airport route has fixed pricing that is confirmed before you travel. As a guide, a sedan from Jeddah Airport to a Mecca hotel is SAR 250, Mecca to Medina is SAR 500, and a half day Mecca Ziarat starts at SAR 250. The complete list for every route and vehicle is published on our pricing page.

Can I use Uber in Makkah, and is it cheaper than a taxi?

Ride hailing apps operate in the major Saudi cities, and for short trips inside the city the prices are broadly similar. For Umrah travel the comparison changes. App fares rise with surge pricing at peak prayer times, drivers cannot enter the airport arrivals hall to meet you, and long intercity journeys such as Mecca to Medina are rarely available at one confirmed price. A pre booked private transfer gives you a fixed fare, a named driver who waits if your flight is delayed, and space for a family and its luggage.

How do I book a taxi online in Makkah?

Submit your travel details in the booking form at the top of this page, choose your vehicle, and confirm on WhatsApp. The same booking takes two minutes in our iPhone and Android apps. You receive your driver's name, photo and phone number the day before you travel, and payment is made in cash or by card at the end of the journey.

How much does a 7 day Umrah cost?

The total depends on flights, hotel category and the season, which is why quotes vary so widely. Ground transportation is the predictable part. A typical seven day trip uses an airport transfer into Mecca at SAR 250, an intercity transfer to Medina at SAR 500, Ziarat days from SAR 200, and a final airport transfer from SAR 200. Booked together as a package, complete ground transport starts from SAR 950 for a sedan, fixed before you fly.
